Applications are invited from eligible Sri Lankans for the award of Masters/PhD scholarships offered by the University of Cyprus under the above scholarship scheme for the academic year 2011/2012. The medium of study will be Greek language.

General Eligible Requirements,

(a)    Should be a citizen of Sri Lanka.

(b)   Applicants must have a First or Second Class (Upper Division) degree from a recognized university

(c)    Applicants should be below 40 years  of age on 05.04.2011

(d)   Be employed in the Public Sector, University , or a State Corporation

(e)   No application will be entertained from a person holding a temporary/ casual/ contractual appointment or a person who is unemployed. Only confirmed emploconsidered for the scholarships.

(f)     An employee on probation may apply provided however that his/her confirmation is conditional upon acquiring a specified postgraduate qualification, in such a case a statement to that effect should be included in cage 17 of the application.

(g) Should possess a high proficiency in English.

Scholarships Durations

1. The initial period of scholarship granted is for 12 months
2. The scholarship might be renewed beyond 12 months
3. The scholarship will be renewed every six months and will be able to cover the maximum duration of the postgraduate program.
4. The Scholarship for masters – level programs can be extended up to 2 years
5. The scholarship for doctoral programs can be extended beyond 2 years but not more than 4 years

Scholarships

(a)    Tuition fees

(b)    Scholarship allowance equal to Euro 680 per month (Euro 680x 12 = Euro8160)

(c)     The fellows will be able to apply for accommodating in the Students Halls of Residence through the approved procedures of the university. The rent will be covered by the allowance of the scholarship.

Closing date

Applications will be accepted only up to on   05.04.2011
