12^th July 2011, the Srilanka telecom made an announcement to Colombo Stock Exchange, that the company is invest Rs.5 Billion in equity of Mobitel.

The Mobitel is a fully own subsidiary of Srilanka Telecom. The investment will be used by Mobitel for expansion plans of Coverage and network Modernization.
