Samurdhi Subsidies Increased from 1st April 2012

The Government announced the Samurdhi Subsidies have been increased from 1st April 2012, the Samurdhi Subsidies is provided by the Government to low income families around the country.

The Minimum subsidiary of Samurdhi Subsidies has been increase gradually by 33% and the Samurdhi Subsidies will be directly remitted to the bank account from this month.

The Samurdhi Subsidies is expected to rise in this year with the new beneficiaries from Northern Province, and the Samurdhi Subsidies will increase as follows

 

Current Samurdhi Subsidies New Samurdhi Subsidies
Range from Rs. 250.00 to Rs. 615.00 Rs. 750.00
Rs. 900 Rs. 1,200.00
Rs. 1,500 Rs. 1,500

 

The Samurdhi Subsidies will be directly deposited into the beneficiary Bank Account, therefore no one will able to take money.

And the government is allocated Rs. 42.648 Million for Samurdhi Subsidies to over 1.5 Million Samurdhi Beneficiaries.
