The New Minister of Technology, Research and Atomic Energy Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka meets the delegations from Russia to create a legal basis for bilateral relations between Sri Lanka and the Russian Federation on peaceful applications of nuclear technology.

It was agreed that a Memorandum of Understanding would be signed between Sri Lanka and the Russian Federation in the near future which would facilitate vocational training for Sri Lankan nuclear scientists in Russia and also managing nuclear and radiation safety issues and the development of nuclear technology infrastructure in Sri Lanka.
