Arrangements are being made to upgrade 22 national parks in the country as environmental tourist destinations.The Wildlife Department is developing infrastructural facilities for eco-friendly tourism at 62 national sanctuaries in island.
According to the news Source that local and foreign tourists visiting national parks, mainly Wilpatthu and Yala, have increased rapidly. An infrastructural development programme is under way at Wilpatthu and Yala, which includes the construction of new holiday bungalows, arranging camp sites, interior road ways and safari transport systems.
