Parallel to the development initiatives launched by Ministry of Economic Development in collaboration with numerous Government organizations focusing on Hamilton Canal which are now being completed, proposals are invited from prospective investors and community organizations, to develop Hamilton Canal, Negombo Lagoon and Muthurajawela areas to support tourism industry. The proposals already identified are as follows;
- Floating Restaurants
- Health + Comfort Stations
- Camping Sites
- Boat Riding
- Fish, Prawns & Oyster Farming
- Fish Foot Therapy
- Nature Trails & Cycling Tracks
- Canal/Lagoon Water Purification Systems
- Operation & Maintenance of Jetties
