The University of Colombo affiliated the Welligatta Farmers Training college in Hambantota to provides graduate and diploma training courses for the farmers in Hambantota district and adjoining districts.
The children of farmer families have greatly benefitted because of several programmes designed for them. Tissue Culture Technology is used in the Production of plantain sapling to help plantain cultivators in the district.
This would be a great help and the encouragement to the farmers in srilanka, to educate in their respective farming and knowing the new technology arrives in it.
