The University of Colombo National Institute of Library and Information Science invites applications for the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) Programme.
Entry Requirements
- Degree of Master of Philosophy (M.Phil) in Library & Information Science (LIS) or a relevant field of study from the University of Colombo or any other recognized University where the study programme is of not less than two year duration, OR
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Library & Information Science or a relevant field of study with a Master’s Degree in LIS or in a relevant field which is acceptable to the Higher Degrees Committee of NILIS; AND
- A good working knowledge in English

Application and further details can be obtained by sending the application fee – a cheque drawn in favour of ‘National Institute of Library & Information Sciences’ – together with a self-addressed 10×20 am. Stamped envelope to the following address. The fee can also be paid to the Senior Assistant Bursar / NILIS before 3.30 p.m. on weekdays and obtain the documents. Perfected applications should be returned to the Assistant Registrar / NILIS under a Registered Cover on or before 31st July 2013.
