The Sri Lanka Export Development Board (SLEDB) is making arrangements to implement the above programme targeting the farmers growing decorative foliage under Protected Agriculture Systems (Net Houses) for export in the Hambantota District.
Objectives
- To popularize the cultivation of export oriented foliage varieties in the region
- To establish steady marketing network between exporters and out growers
- To develop a consolidated quality supply base
- Inculcate good cultivation practices among the out growers
For Whom
Existing / potential farmers in the Hambantota District who wish to grow decorative foliage for export.
Assistance
Assistance will be provided on cost sharing basis to meet 40% of the cost for the following items considered for reimbursement up to a maximum of Rs. 210,000/-
Other Assistance
- Construction of Net House
- Irrigation equipment
- Planting materials
- Technical workshops / awareness
- Cultivation guidance
- Linkages with exporters
Selection Procedure
Suitable farmers for the Programme will be selected by an Evaluation Panel appointed by the SLEDB and followed by field inspection.
Application Procedure
Prescribed application forms are available at the Hambantota Special Branch Office (SLEDB) or application could be downloaded from the SLEDB official web site www.srilankabusiness.com (under the section of Events & Announcements).
Duly completed application forms should be sent under registered post to reach the Assistant Director, Hambantota Special Branch Office, Sri Lanka Export Development Board,2nd floor,Magam Ruhunupura Administrative Complex, Siribopura, Hambantota on or before 09,h December, 2013.
