Bachelor of Arts Degree for Foreign Candidates (Internal) University Admission Academic Year 2014/2015 from Buddhist and Pali University of Sri Lanka

Applications are invited up to 21.04.2014 from eligible foreign Bhikkus who sat for the G.C.E (A/L) Examination in 2012 possessed the following qualifications to read for the Bachelor of Arts Degree as internal students.

 

Minimum Requirements for Admission

Candidates who are pronounced eligible by the Commissioner General of Examinations should have obtained.

At least 3 ‘S’ Grades in all subjects, including  Pali, Buddhism or Buddhist Civilization and any other subject at the G.C.E (A/L) Examination with a minimum mark of 30% for the Common General Paper at the G.C.E (A/L) Examination.

 

OR

At least 3 ‘S’ Grades in all subjects, including either Sanskrit, History or Sinhala with the subject of Pali with a minimum mark of 30% for the Common General Paper at the G.C.E (A/L) Examination.

Students who have not offered Pali should have obtained the following qualification.

Pass in Pali subject at the Prachina Prarambha Examination

Pass in Pali subject at the Examination of Mulika Piriven Final examination

Credit pass in Pali subject at the G.C.E (O/L) examination

Pass Diploma in Pali conducted by the Buddhist and Pali University of Sri Lanka.

OR

Candidates should have obtained the qualification deemed equivalent to G.C.E (Advanced Level) Examination in Sri Lanka.

The candidates who have obtained the qualification as per para above without the subject of Pali should have passed one year Diploma in Pali conducted by the Buddhist and Pali University of Sri Lanka or possess any other qualifications in Pali equivalent to the above Diploma course.

Note:-  As declared by the University Grants Commission, minimum requirements for admission for each year will be considered in accordance with requirements.

 

Fees:

Registration fee – USS 20 per year

Tuition fee – USS 100 first year

For an application form – Rs. 250/-

Application forms can be downloaded from www.bmi.ac.lk Application forms obtained from the website must be forwarded with a Bank draft/paying slip for Rs. 250/= drawn in favour of the Buddhist and Pali University A/c No. 711201 Bank of Ceylon, Homagama, Sri Lanka by registered post to the following address, on or before 21.04.2014.

Duly filled application forms should be sent on or before 21.04.2014 by registered post to the above address. The words “University Admission for Foreign Students 2014/2015” should be mentioned on the top left hand comer of the envelope. All foreign students are registered in their names mentioned in the passports. If differences of names are disclosed they must submit an affidavit certificate attested by their respective Embassies.

All the foreign students those who wish to follow English medium degree courses are required to sit for a proficiency Test in English. If a candidate is unable to obtain the required pass mark from the above Test the candidate should follow one year proficiency course in English.

Those who seek admission should possess either resident visa or student visa.

Applications which are incomplete or received after the closing date will be rejected.
