Department of Wildlife Conservation organised an wildlife photographic competition Held to mark the 65th Anniversary of the Department of Wildlife Conservation this Wildlife Photographic Competition Open Section and School Section.

A decision has been taken to hold wildlife photographic competition to mark the 65th Anniversary of the Department of Wildlife Conservation.

Any Sri Lankan and school children can participate at this competition and submit only 04 wildlife photos containing natural wildlife splendour and activities either in black & white or colour.

All photos should have been taken in National Parks, sanctuaries or wildlife protected areas in Sri Lanka and should not be digitally altered. If necessary, either the negative or a scanned image CD should be submitted along with the photos.

The length of photo should be between 12″ and 18″ while the width should be between 8″ and 12”. Photos should not be submitted either in mounted positions. The reverse top left corner of the photo should be marked the applicants name as given in the application, address title and serial number. A short description on the wildlife locations, the camera and the lenses, should be submitted.

The ownership of all the photos should be of the applicant and should not have been submitted to any other photographic competition earlier. The department will use the selected photos for media and Publicity Purposes.

All photographs should either be sent by post or personally delivered to the Director General, Department of Wildlife Conservation. The top left corner of the cover containing the photographs should be marked “Wildlife Photographic Competition 2014” Entries received after the relevant date will not be accepted and the Department shall not be responsible for any damages caused in the mail.

This is an open and non fee levying competition and any officer or member of his family, serving in institutes functioning under the Ministry of Wildlife recourse conservation No. 811/A, Jayanthipura, Battaramulla is not permitted to participate in this competition.

The Competition will be evaluated under a formal panel of judges to select winner and the decision of the panel of judges will be the final. Prizes and certificates will also be awarded to first, second and third place winners while 10 merit certificates will also be awarded. Official results will be notified to winners by post.
