The AAT is of the professional Qualification in Srilanka. The Exams are conducted in twice in year during June and December.

 Entrance Qualifications for Registration

  • 6 Passes at GCE O/L examinations Srilanka / UK or
  • 2 Passes at GCE A/L examinations Srilanka / UK or
  • 5 years Experience as an Accounts Clerk/ Audit Clerk/ Book keeper or Accounts Trainee in a recognized Establishment or
  • Any other Qualifications acceptable to the Governing Council

      AAT is means Association of Accounting Technicians of Srilanka,
      Mainly there is 3 entry Qualifications such as,
      6 Passes at GCE (O/L) Srilanka or UK
      Or
      2 Passes at GCE (A/L) Srilanka or UK
      Or
      5 years experience as an Accounts Clerk/ Audit Clerk/ Book keeper/ Accounts Trainee in recognised Establishment
      Or
      Any other equivalent Qualification acceptable by AAT

      Jobs Related to AAT

      Mostly AAT used to be Accounts and administrations.
      The jobs can be
      Accountant
      Assistant Accountant
      Book keeper
      Accounts Trainee
      Auditor

      My Suggestion

      AAT is a good beginning to do Accountancy programme, specially this will help you to study more professionals in Field.

      There are many audit firms around srilanka, and you should not mandatory have experience only in Audit to obtain AAT Memberships,
      Where you can work as other jobs like,
      Assistant accountant, Account executives and so on,

      First you have to renew your Student registration (before 31st March 2012)
      For exams entry, you may able to apply the Examination from 3rd April 2012 to 2 Weeks,

    I have done o/l exam 3 times. 2009 o/l exam i passed 3 subjects(accounts,english and islam). 2010 o/l exam I passed 2 subjects(second language sinhala and computer). 2011o/l exam I passed 1 subject (second language tamil). now I have 6 subjects pass, so can I register with aat or cant?

      Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (ICASL)

      Full Exemption from CAB-I Examination
      Those who complete AATSL Final Examination including the subject Business Communication II (English) are
      eligible for full exemption from CAB-I Examination.

      There are few subjects are exemption for CMA Sri Lanka and CA Sri Lanka for AAT Students, but i doubt will it for AAT Intermediate complete student..
      normally those exemptions are available for AAT Passed Finalist only,

      Pls do check with CMA Sri Lanka or CA Sri Lanka by emails.
