The Folk Art Center, Pelawatta, Battaramulla invites Applications for the Courses of Aesthetic and Vocational for the free of education.
The Folk Art Center is Authorised institution under Ministry of Nation Heritage to offer wide range of Educational Programmes to Srilanka and enriching the student’s skills.
Aesthetic Course
The Folk Art Center invites application for the Aesthetic Full time courses to schedule to commence in the month of February 2012.
Courses
- Certificate coursed in Dancing – Upcountry, Low Country or Sabragamu
- Certificate course in Music – singing, Instrument playing
- Certificate course in Art or Sculpture
Course Duration: 2 Years
Entry Qualification
The applicants should Passed GCE (A/L) examinations [with the subjects which relevant to above courses]
The applicant Age should be within the range of 17 to 25 years.
Vocational Courses
- Beeralu Lace and Embroidery Courses
- Creation if leather related shoes, bags, Wall Hangings and etc…
- Wood carvings, Bore carvings, wooden sculptures, Mask Industry
- Handloom Textiles and related Products
Applying Process
The applicants are request to prepare the application in accordance with the specimen attached and send id through registered post to below address on or before 20th January 2012.
The residential facilities will be provided for the outstation students at the Folk Art Center premises subject to the space available and the students needs to bear their food expenses on their own.
These courses will be conducted in Free of Charge on weekdays between 8.30 Am to 4.15 Pm.
