Government taken steps to established new Industrial and Tourism Zone in North shortly. The New Zones will be provides many Direct and Indirect employment in region.

Industrial Zones

Several investors have already come forward to establish industries in fruit based product, poultry, Fish Processing, Sugar and Roofing Sheet at below industrial zones,

• Jaffna
• Vavuniya
• Kilinochchi
• Mannar
• Mullaitivi

Tourism Zones

Bird Sanctuaries, Golf and Play Grounds, Facilities of sea Sports and Special boat Services have been planed as part of tourism zone. Several star class hotels are willing come up in the three islands.

• Mandativi
• Karativi
• Kayts island
