Srilanka First Cable Car Project Started at Nuwara Elia; would be ready by early December 2013

Sri Lanka’s first cable car project is expected to be ready by early December 2013. MLM Associates (Pvt) Ltd invested Rs 700 million for this project as an initial stage. The cable car network would be installed from Lake Gregory to Single Tree Mountain of 2 Km approximately.

The chosen cable cars would be dual powered; solar and wind and each cabin would have the capacity for 15 persons. And it is also have a glass bottomed cable car with additional luxuries to be used for high end personalities. The company is also setting up a new restaurant at Single Tree Mountain to add values to the tourist to enjoy their meals and snacks with natural environment of srilanka.

A cable car trips will be charge around Rs. 1,000.00 and expect to have at least 500,000 tourists per year.

And the project will be extend to 7.5 Km Cable car project with  20 Rooms luxury Hotels and coffee shops, gift shops and kids play area with parks.
