The Open University of Sri Lanka invites applications for the following Programmes in English conducted by Department of Language Studies.

• Advanced Certificate in English- one year certificate programme designed for advanced learners who wish to upgrade their skills in reading and writing. This programme will be conducted in Colombo and Kandy.
• Diploma in English and English Language teaching- two year academic programme which includes study of English Literature, Applied Linguistics and Language. This programme will be conducted in Colombo.

Entry requirements:

Entry to both programmes will depend on performance at entry test to be held on 13^th July 2013 in Colombo, Kandy, Matara, Anuradhapura, Batticaloa and Jaffna.

Those who have obtained at least a C pass in all three courses in the OUSL certificate in professional English will be permitted direct entry into Advanced Certificate in English

Those who have passed Advanced Certificate in English will be permitted direct entry into Diploma in English and English Language teaching

A limited number of application forms will be issued from 9am to 3pm from 6^th May 2013 to 6^th June 2013 at

• The Public Information Office, The Open University of Srilanka, Nawala, Nugegoda
• The regional centres at Kandy (Nupe), Matara (Polgolla), Jaffna (Kokkuvil), Baticaloa and Anuradhapura.

Duly completed applications must reach the Assistant Director/ Regional officer of the Regional Centre before 6^th June 2013.
