Wi-Fi to all redevelopment under UDA

Free Wi-Fi facilities will be available in all areas and buildings constructed and redeveloped by the Urban Development Authority (UDA).

The UDA said that it had partnered with Sri Lanka Telecom to upgrade and provide state-of-the-art telecommunication facilities to all its redevelopment projects in the country. LED screens providing information to the public and for advertising purposes will also be setup under the project.

The Rs. 60 million projects will provide the public access to free Wi-Fi at locations such as the Dutch Hospital. Race Course and the former Attorney-General’s building which is being redeveloped as a shopping complex. The authority said that Race Course complex would be the first to be provided with Wi-Fi facilities and LED screens providing information and for advertising purposes.

UDA redevelopment projects within Colombo will be provided with these facilities under the initial stage of the project. Similar facilities will also be provided for other redevelopment projects across the country soon.
