The Srilanka Transport Board known as CTB is discussing with Chinese and Several Indian companies and Private bus associations to purchases new buses under Earn and Pay system.
This system would help government to reduce loss making entity and the buses brought under agreement will be paid later on their earnings made on buses.
The Transport Minister says among 7,735 buses belonging to the SLTB only about 5,932 buses are suitable for running conditions, while 2,156 buses are running over 15 years.
