The Srilanka government has allocated Rs. 46,469 million for various development activities in the Kegalle district from 2006 to 2012
The funds has been utilised for infrastructure developments, social well fare, livelihood development and various other community projects which will uplift the people’s living standards in the district.
The Kegalle district comprises of below stated villages and Divisions

| Total Number of Families: | 2,18,508 |
| Samurdhi Benefited Families: | 86,734 |
most of the funds have been used for the road, and livehood development of the people in kegalle district, these are good investment for the long term development of kegalle.
