Department of Examinations, Sri Lanka invites applications for the G.C.E (O/L) 2015. Applications are called from 20.05.2015 to 20.06.2015 from all the school and private candidates who intend to sit the examination. The Specimen Application Form given here is only for the private candidates.
Every private candidate should read and understand this notice completely and complete the Application Form. A special consideration should be given to write the accurate number when mentioning the town number and subject numbers in the Application.
The relevant application forms have been sent in order to receive by 20.05.2015 to the government schools and approved pirivenas in which the students have sat the G.C.E. (O/L) Examination before. If any school has not received the applications by now such schools should inform the School Examinations Organization Branch immediately.
Only those who have left school can apply as private candidates. Any one applying for this examination as a private candidate while still being in school is illegal. If such an instance is revealed, it will result in being debarred from sitting examinations.
Private Candidates means Any person not attending any state school, non fee-levying approved school or recognized Pirivena may sit as a private candidate. Applications for this examination will be received from private candidates only up to 20th June 2015. And private candidates should select the town closest to their permanent residence for the examination.

The Department of Examinations, Sri Lanka has publish the proposed planed G.C.E (A/L) 2015 Examination time table as follows, the details G.C.E (A/L) 2015 Time table with exam commencement date would be replaced once its original released nu department of examinations.
The results of the G.C.E. (O/L) Examination 2013 have already been dispatched to Principals of Schools and to private candidates.
Application for Re-scrutiny of results of the above Examination, prepared on a form (30cm x 20cm) in accordance with the specimen of application, should be sent by Registered Post to reach the ’’Commissioner General of Examinations, Evaluation (School Exams) Branch, National Evaluation and Testing Service, Department of Examinations, Pelawatta, Battaramulla’’ on or before 25.04.2014. Please indicate “Re-Scrutiny of Results (O/L) 2013” on the top left-hand corner of the envelope.
In Re-scrutiny the relevant answer scripts are examined fully by a number of members of the Re-Scrutiny Board. The purpose of Re-Scrutiny is to evaluate answers or part of answers not evaluated properly and to correct any errors in calculation. It is notified that as a result of Re-Scrutiny either an upward revision or a downward revision of marks and grade is possible.
Before sending the applications, please make sure and satisfy yourself that the particulars given in the applications are correct.
Please adhere to the following instructions in preparing the application form:
Applications of school candidates should be sent through Principals of their respective schools, and private candidates should send their applications directly to the above address by Registered Post.
Applications should be prepared according to the specimen form.
The fee for Re-Scrutiny per subject is Rs. 150/ – (Hundred and Fifty Rupees). This amount should be paid to a Post Office / Sub Post Office (separate receipt for each application) and the receipt obtained should be pasted firmly on the other side of the application. Please note down the number of the above receipt and keep it along with the postal registration receipt of the application. (It is advisable to keep a photocopy of the receipt for payment, if possible).
Money, Stamps, Cheques, Money Orders or Postal Orders will not be accepted.
A separate application should be sent in respect of each subject applied for:
The Index Number, Name of the Examination Centre, Subject, Subject Number, Medium and Grade obtained as indicated in the results sheet should be correctly entered.
Applications with incorrect or incomplete information, those sent after the closing date and applications without the prescribed fee will be rejected without any information. Fees paid in respect of rejected applications will not be refunded.

The University Grants Commission of Sri Lanka is release the Cut-off Z-score Marks for G.C.E (A/L) 2012 result today.
Minimum Z-scores for selection to courses of study for each district and detailed information of course selection based on the GCE (A/L) Examination in 2012 will be available on www.admission.ugc.ac.lk

The Department of Examination invites applications for providing relief for the students with special needs for December 2013 Examination.
It is anticipated to provide relief to students with special needs who wish to sit for the above mentioned examinations which are to be held in December 2013.
