The Commissioner General of Examinations stated to media that the GCE A/L examination result will be released today midnight (29th December 2018).
However, Minister Akila Viraj Kariyawasam said the release date of examination results had been fixed for December 27 while the GCE O/L exam results have been fixed for March 28 and Grade Five Scholarship exam results for October 5.

The Mahatma Gandhi Scholarships for 2016-17 were awarded to 150 Advanced Level school students from all 25 districts across Sri Lanka.
The Mahatma Gandhi scholarship, a merit cum means based scholarship instituted in 2006-07 for Sri Lankan students and its awarded annually.
Scholarship recipient receives cash assistance during their 2 years of Advance Level studies and the scholarship amount from Rs 2,000 to 2,500 per month from 2015-16 onwards and accordingly; this year’s awardees will receive Rs. 30,000 annually during their two years of advance level studies.
this scholarships were offered based on the students G.C.E (O/L) Performance and the interview held in April 2017 by Education Ministry and Indian High Commission officials.

The drawing should not be rolled or folded

The Examination Department Released that G.C.E. Advanced Level examination re-correction results for G.C.E (A/L) 2016.
Fifty-eight thousand candidates have applied for re-corrections this year. The University Grants Commission said that University entrance marks for the 2016 and 2017 batch will be announced by the end of May.
Furthermore the Grants Commission said that selection of applicants to University entrance is underway.

New innovations and innovative product improvements
Low cost high quality product development
Project proposals on existing production process development
Improvements to existing process development
Environmentally sustainable process development
Industries which are involved in product manufacturing process or promotion of industrial innovation are also eligible to apply
Fifty percent (50%) of the project cost will be born by the ministry after monitoring the process of research or promotion of industrial innovation.
Participation in skill development programs such as lectures, technical sessions and seminars.
The project must have innovative product or innovative development of production process.
Should have five year experience in product manufacturing.
Note: This condition will not be applicable to new innovators or promoters of industrial innovation.
The applicant must provide proof of concept.
The proposed project should have market potential.
Economical benefits should be gained by the proposed project.
It is noted that this grant will not be provided for business investments, business developments and to start new business.
All applications will be evaluated by a panel of judges who are qualified in manufacturing related product & process development. Short listed applicants will be invited for an interview by a selection committee appointed by the Secretary of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce. Technical feasibility of those applicants/projects will be evaluated and all necessary documents must be provide by the selected applicant.

University Affairs State Minister Mohan Lal Grero said leadership training will be carried out after enrolling students at university base. Accordingly, the training will be given at the university premises by the particular university for selected undergraduates.
The content of the training programme will be designed by the particular university. Even though, positive attitude and leadership qualities development components such as soft skills development, leadership skills development, exercises for physical and mental health, lectures for attitudinal change, etc. will probably be included. The courses for physical health will not be compulsory and the undergraduates are free decide in accordance with their physical status.
He feather said university students must develop their soft skills, physical and mental health to become complete persons and skills gain through leadership training will be an added advantage once they enter the job market and the training will be helpful to adapt with the competitive world and its needs.
