The first cable car service in Sri Lanka will be inaugurated between the old public fair and Rumassala hills in Galle this year.
Galle Mayor Methsiri De Silva said the proposed project would be funded by the Singapore and German governments. He further state the trip by cable car to Rumassala hills over the sea would be a thrilling experience for local and foreign tourists and bring a vast income to the Municipal Council.
The mayor w as hopeful that Rumassala hills with a long tradition that runs as far back as the legendary king Ravana would be a main tourist attraction after the inaugurating the cable car service.
