27^th November 2011 the 1^st Express Highway of srilanka was officially open to used public. The permission has been given for 4 Luxury Buses to operate in Express highway from 1^st January 2011.

2 of them will be Srilanka Transportation Board and Balance 2 Buses will be Private holding buses.

The express highway was the one of the high income earning project to srilanka and highly welcome by the public to reduce their traveling time between Colombo to Galle.
