The Wilpattu National Park is one of the largest and oldest national parks in Srilanka. Due to the war the Wilpattu National Park was closed for public access from 1985 to 2005. Again the Wilpattu National Park closed for security reasons and reopen to public after war ended.
From the day of 27th February 2011 to end of 2011, the Wilpattu National Park attracts the 22,970 Local tourists and 2291 Foreigners and total 4339 vehicle to been entered in Wilpattu National Park.
With all integrative the Wilpattu National Park to earns LKR of 8.744 Million in the year of 2011. This is the highest revenue earn by Wilpattu National Park from past.
