The Sri Lanka Government is expected to take over a historic building in Colombo of the Standard Chartered Bank build on No 17, Janadipathi Mawatha, Colombo 1.

The building was partially occupied by staff of the Presidential Secretariat and Presidential Security Division (PSD) personnel from 2006. And the owner of the building had advertised on internet to sell of this building for Rs. 1.13977 Billion.

The purchases of the Landmark Building will help to the Government to focus more on the City Development and attract more tourists into the Country and make Colombo as a Shopping Destinations for other countries.
