A resolution was passed at the Northern Provincial Council to declare Vannerikkilam area within the purview of the Northern Provincial Council as a Bird sanctuary.
Preliminary work in Vannerikulam within tte Karaichichi Pradheshiya Sabha should be commenced forthwith and should be made available to the general public as early as possible. This would ease the minds of the people affected by the war and tourism too could be developed.
