The Ministry of Transport announced; the Srilanka Railway has earned Rs. 42.4 Million from the Freight Yard service in island wide.
The freight transport service by rail was streamlined after the renovations of the Srilanka railways, since the entire transportation cost hike in the country, the Ministry of transport maintain the rail freight service as low cost option for transporting goods.
Currently many companies are used Srilanka railway freight services to transport their goods effectively and efficiently. The Srilanka Army, Cement Companies, State organizations and some of Private companies are contribution Srilanka Railway freight services.
And Srilanka Railway Looking forward a huge demand after the Northern Railway projects complete, which will becomes cheapest options to transfer good.
