The Ministry of Transport considers developing new Airports in Kandy and Nuwara Eliya. The Srilanka looking forward to improve the Air travel services with wide domestic Air  Port services. The New Airport proposals are helping to the nation to improve mode of transport and high foreign income.

The proposed Airports of Kandy and Nuwara Eliya are expected to be at a cost of Rs. 750 Million. This is an addition to the Existing 16 Domestic Airports.
