The Cost of Living allowance for employees of government corporations, statutory boards and project staff has been increased up to Rs 7,800 per month with effect from January 01, the Ministry of Finance and Planning announced.

that the revision of the Cost of Living allowance has been effected as per the Budget Proposals 2014. The Management Services Circular in this regards was issued. Accordingly, employees of all Government Corporations, Statutory Boards, Fully Owned Government Companies and the projects covered by the Management Services Circular No. 33 are entitled to this allowance.

According to sources that National Trade Union Centre has request Rs. 13,442.50 as a Cost of Living Allowance, where it is good indication of the CoL Increment compare to other cost factors in Sri Lanka
